Malaina is all smiles in this picture because she got a new dress. Thank you Amanda for thinking of Malaina too. It really made her day. She had a different dress on and whipped it off to put on the new one. She also had to take her braid out since the pony tail was pink and it didn't match her dress.

Happy Birthday Skylyn Clair!

Skylyn loves to hear people tell her, "Happy Birthday!" She even likes saying it herself in her own little Skylyn way. She is doing so much better with talking. It gives me hope that someday she will do more communicating and less throwing herself on the ground.

Sky impressed us with her transition to her "big girl" bed. She went to bed last night at 7:45 and slept until 7:30. I was going up to check on her, but she was awake just talking to herself. I hope this continues.

Malaina had a hard time today understanding that it is Sky's birthday and that she doesn't get presents. We even tried the, "Aren't you happy it is Sky's birthday so you can get ice cream?" That didn't work either. We had a few teary episodes. In the end she declared, "I can't wait for it to be my birthday so Sky doesn't get any presents." She will be disappointed when we have people over on Saturday and they have presents for Skylyn. It is hard being 4 1/2.

Skylyn did get some cool toys today. She got a table and chairs from Aunt B and Uncle Jim, stroller from TT, Maddie and Matt (She let Maddie know that it was hers by saying, "No! Mine!") and a baby doll from us. This year for her charm we got her a shoe since she started walking this year and since she is obsessed with shoes. Those of you who aren't familiar with the charms...each year we give the girls a charm so that when they are older they will have a full charm bracelet of things that we remember during each year of their life.

News...

We have had a pretty busy week. We loved having Sara, Todd and their girls here. We did lots of fun stuff as you can see from previous blog entries. Thursday I went to Carmax in the morning with the girls (not recommended) and Thursday night we were dropping off our old van and purchasing a new van. It is the exact same as the old one but silver. I do miss the old van. I know, I know...it is the same van, but I liked that it was brand new when I got it. The girls had a late night at Grandma and Grandpa's and didn't go to bed until 10:00! They did sleep in on Friday.

Saturday was pretty much the usual Saturday with grocery shopping in the morning and Marty cooking dinner at night. We hung out at Nina's all morning since she was having another yard sale. Malaina is going to miss Naiya so much :(

Today I called my Mom and told her the girls we driving me crazy and her and Dave offered to take them to brunch. I took them up on the offer and Marty and I ran some errands. The girls had a great time too. Malaina didn't eat much for dinner, but we thought she was still stuffed from brunch. It was a much needed break. Skylyn is back to her old tricks of crying / screaming all the time. Ask Sara if you think I am making it up.

Tonight Madison picked up Gracie. They are doing a trial run to see how Gracie does at their house. I was sad to see the pup go and even cried a little. I know Madison will take good care of her. Timmie has been giving me status updates and said that Gracie likes Espn. Madison took her out for a walk and has been keeping her upstairs. It makes me happy that Madison loves her so much and I know she will dote on her. Gracie will love sleeping with Madison.
